New Delhi: Vice President Hamid Ansari and
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Wednesday attended Iftar party
hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh which brought together
leaders of various hues.
Among those present at the Iftar at the Prime Minister's
official 7, Race Course residence were senior BJP leaders L K
Advani and Sushma Swaraj, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, RJD
chief Lalu Prasad and LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan.
Several Union Ministers including Pranab Mukherjee, P
Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Salman Khurshid, Farooq Abdullah,
Subodh Kant Sahay, Sushil Kumar Shinde and E Ahamed also
attended the party.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Delhi
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit were also present.
During the get-together, Singh went around and chatted
with the guests.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not seen at the Iftar.
