New Delhi: Seeking to assuage her concerns
over Tipaimukh hydropower project in Manipur, Prime Minister
Manmohan is understood to have responded to Bangladesh`s top
opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia`s letter on the issue.
The PM has sent his reply to Begum Zia`s letter, PMO
sources said here on Saturday night without disclosing the content of
the reply.
In her letter, Begum Zia, former Prime Minister and BNP
Chairperson, is understood to have voiced concern over
possible adverse effects of Tipaimukh project on the flow of
water of Barak river and its consequences for lower riparian
Bangladesh.
She also suggested a joint survey by the two countries of
the project site and talks on the issue.
