PM to visit Tirumala temple on July 9

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will offer prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here on the night of July 9.

Tirupati: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will
offer prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara
at Tirumala near here on the night of July 9.

Temple sources said that this would be his second
visit to the shrine. Earlier, Singh had worshipped at the
ancient hill temple on September 25, 2005.

Information and Public Relations Department officials
here said that the Prime Minister, after an overnight stay on
the hills, would lay the foundation stones for the Rs 6,000
crore NTPC-BHEL power project at Mannavaram, and Tirupati
International Airport at Renigunat near here on July 10.

He would also unveil the Golden Jubilee Pylon of Sri
Venkateswara Medical College here, they said.

To review the security and other arrangements, Andhra
Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosiah would visit both sites and the
hill temple tomorrow, they added.
