Polls to 38 Legislative Council seats on June 10

Elections to 38 seats in Legislative Councils of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar would be held on June 10, the Election Commission announced today.

Legislative Councils of Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra
and Bihar would be held on June 10, the Election Commission
announced today.

The polling to 13 seats in UP, ten in Maharashtra and
seven each in Karnataka and Bihar was necessitated following
retirement of sitting members.

A vacancy occurred in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative
Council due to the death of a sitting member, the EC said.

Notifications would be issued on May 24 and the counting
of votes would take place at 5 pm on June 10, the EC added.
