New Delhi: BJP youth wing president Anurag
Thakur today appointed Pramod Mahajan`s daughter Poonam, MP
Kamlesh Paswan and Uttar Pradesh MLA Raghav Lakhanpal as
vice-presidents of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
Though Poonam lost the last assembly elections in
Maharashtra, the party seniors think highly of her as she has
been active in her state since senior party leader Pramod
Mahajan`s death in 2006.
Kamlesh Paswan is BJP MP from Bansgaon in Uttar Pradesh.
Lakhanpal is MLA from Saharanpur and is one of the active
young leaders of the party in UP.
Other vice presidents chosen by Thakur are Bhrigu
Bakshpatra (Orissa) and Pawan Khajuria (Jammu and Kashmir).
Thakur, who is MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, has
also appointed two general secretaries, Nitin Navin, MLA from
Bihar, and Manoranjan Mishra (Madhya Pradesh).
Mohan Reddy (Karnataka), Edward Soren (Jharkhand),
Pranab Barua (Assam), Rajesh Choudhary (Uttar Pradesh), Dhwani
Sharma (Gujarat) and Rahul Kothari (Madhya Pradesh) have been
Suresh Bagashia (Gujarat) will be the treasurer.
The new BJYM team will also comprise 34 executive members
and 16 special invitees.
