Lucknow: Taking a dig at BSP dispensation in
Uttar Pradesh for projecting itself as a welfare government,
the Congress today said everyone in the state is unhappy under
the party`s rule except power brokers.

"The BSP government, which claims to be of Sarvjan
Sukhaya, Sarvjan Hitay (for the welfare and interest of all) ,
in reality is a government of Sarvjan Dukhaya and Dalal Hitay
(for unhappiness of all except brokers)," Congress General
Secretary Digvijay Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a
function here.

Commenting on the BSP government completing three years
of its tenure on May 13, he said people of the state,
especially the poor, are living in the worst conditions and
law and order situation has become more dismal than ever
before.

"The government has failed to fulfil its promises,
corruption is at its peak and the Centre-sponsored schemes are
not being implemented properly in the state," he alleged.

"BSP once talked about putting criminal elements behind
the bars. During its government such elements are calling the
shots and are extorting money by using party flag," he said.

Replying to a question regarding the alleged murder of a
Congress man Rajjan Shukla in Amethi, he said, "Why no action
is being taken against BSP MLA, despite the fact that Shukla
took his name in his dying declaration."

He said that the Congress had fixed May 12 deadline for
the government to act against the killers of Shukla failing
which the party would take its own action.

On SP supporting the UPA, the Congress leader said the
party had already submitted a letter of support to the
President at the time UPA formed government at the Centre.
