New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday appreciated the reconstruction and upgrading of Constitution Club of India here and congratulated BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy for his efforts in this direction.
Rudy, who made a courtesy call on Mukherjee with party MP Shahnawaz Hussain today, was complimented by the President for the revival of the club.
MPs, past and present, and their families can avail facilities at the club. Rudy is the secretary of the club and has contributed to turning around the institution which had virtually become defunct over the years.
"The President expressed fondly that a great job has been done in turning around the Constitution Club of India by Mr Rudy and his team members. He whole-heartedly applauded the fantastic turn around witnessed in the Club," a source said.
Mukherjee noted that the club has undergone astonishing reconstruction and upgrading of facilities. He told Rudy that an institution identified with Vithal Bhai Patel and G V Mavlankar is now a well-known place.
"He said that he has been a witness to the Constitution Club of India for over 46 years of his stay in Delhi and is now pleased to see this major transformation," the source said.
