Priviledge notice against actor Om Puri

A Rajya Sabha member today gave a notice to its Chairman for initiating priviledge proceedings against noted actor Om Puri for allegedly decrying MPs while making a speech at the Ramlila Maidan yesterday.

proceedings against noted actor Om Puri for allegedly decrying
MPs while making a speech at the Ramlila Maidan yesterday.

"A privilege motion notice has been given to the
Chairman of Rajya Sabha by Ram Gopal Yadav (SP) and supported
by lot many members of political parties," Minister of
State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla told reporters
outside Parliament.

He said members of most of the poliical parties raised
this issue and demanded action against Om Puri and the
Chairman will take a decision on the motion on Monday.

Puri had visited Ramlila ground to extend his support
to Anna Hazare for a strong Lokpal.
