Patna: Claiming that the Congress has
been in deep slumber in Bihar for decades, senior BJP leader
Radha Mohan Singh today claimed that not even the Rahul Gandhi
factor would work for the party going by his performance in
various states, barring Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress was not a factor in the Bihar assembly
polls either on its own or even by banking upon the AICC
General Secretary`s charisma as he had failed to dish out
desired results for the party in the assembly polls in several
states, Singh told reporters here.

The Congress did miserably in the assembly bypolls in
Uttar Pradesh recently despite the scion of the Nehru-Gandhi
family putting in his best, Singh, a former state unit BJP
chief, said.

On the electoral strategy of the BJP, the junior
coalition partner in the NDA government, the BJP MP from East
Champaran said that the top party leaders like the state unit
in-charge Ananth Kumar, his deputy Dharmendra Pradhan would
finalise the campaign on September 12.

On the seat sharing formula between the JD(U) and BJP,
Singh said that there was absolute clarity on the number of
seats to be contested by the two parties, but exchange of some
constituencies was expected to take place in view of the
demographic change post-delimitation.
