Chennai: BJP President Nitin Gadkari
on Sunday launched a tirade against Rahul Gandhi for opposing the
interlinking of rivers and said the Congress leader lacked
experience on infrastructure issues, unlike him.

"I am not concerned about what Rahul Gandhi has said.
I am not taking it very seriously as far as this project is
concerned because he has no experience about infrastructure.
I am an experienced man in infrastructure at least because it
is my expertise", he told reporters here on his maiden visit
to Tamil Nadu.

Attributing farmers` suicides in various parts of the
country to powercuts and water shortage, Gadkari said the lone
solution to the problem was to link rivers.

The Ganga and Cauvery should be linked at the first
step, he said.

By this interlinking, 4,000 TMC can be distributed to
the states, particularly in South India.

Gadkari said he had raised Rs 4,000 crore from the
market as Maharashtra PWD minister and completed a project of
Rs 8,000 crore on highways.

"I can assure you only about this project that I am a
good expert".
