Hamirpur: Continuing his mass contact programme for the third consecutive day today, Rahul Gandhi today took feed back from the villagers on central schemes and on candidates fielded by the party for the coming Assembly polls.

Gandhi, who had extensively toured parts of Jhansi, Hamirpur and Mahoba districts since Monday after addressing a youth Congress programme, held a 'chaupal' (village meeting) near a mosque in Muslim-dominated Ghusiyari village in Maudaha tehsil here this morning.

He also interacted with the villagers for over one and a half hours, Congress sources said.

Besides apprising the people about the central schemes, including the ambitious MGREGS and the special package for the region, he took feed back on the party's candidates for the coming UP elections.

41-year-old Gandhi had a night halt at the residence of Machcha village head Shabbir Ahmed where he slept on the terrace, besides having dinner and morning tea at the house.

UPCC President Rita Bahuguna Joshi and local MP and union minister Pradip Jain were also present.

The Congress leader paid obeisance at the village dargah before leaving for Maudaha where he visited some villages to establish direct dialogue with the people.
