Vijayawada: Railways will introduce on board
cleaning system to improve the cleanliness on running trains,
M S Jayant, General Manager, South Central Railway said today.

Talking to reporters he said on board cleaning system
will also be privatized for better service to the passengers.

He said to improve the occupancy of retiring rooms at
Vijayawada railway station, value added services will be
provided on pilot basis with the collaboration of Indian
Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation.

He said though they invited tenders to privatise the
retiring room services, none came forward to take up the job.

In view of this, the railway administration has decided to
maintain the retiring rooms departmentally by improving the
services.

Later, General Manager released a poster to create
awareness among the passengers on complaints through SMS by
cell phones.

He said the passengers have to file their complaints on
toll free no. 8121281212. He said this system has received
good response in Secunderabad.
