New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday came out with more evidence against scam tainted former telecom minister A Raja.

According to reports, CBI told a special court that Raja “overpowered” the state run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to sign a deal with Swan Telecom for the purpose of intra circle roaming.

A Raja, the supposed chief architect of the 2G spectrum scam resigned last November. He was arrested this February and is spending time in Tihar Jail since then.

He has been named as an accused in the 2G scam.

He was accused of allocating 2G spectrum licences arbitrarily to ineligible applicants in 2008 at 2001 price on a 'First-Come-First-Served' basis.

The Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) of India exposed serious irregularities in the allocation of 2G spectrum and pegged the revenue loss to the national exchequer at a staggering Rs 1.76 lakh crore.
