Rajnath sees playing an active role after stepping down

Even after stepping down from his post early next month, BJP national president Rajnath Singh sees himself playing an active role in his party at the national level.

Lucknow: Even after stepping down from his
post early next month, BJP national president Rajnath Singh
sees himself playing an active role in his party at the
national level.

"I will continue to contribute my services to the
party at the national level as member of the BJP`s core
committee, central parliamentary board and election
committee," Singh who was here to attend a wedding function
yesterday said here today.
The BJP national president, while answering to a question
said that UP too is a crucial part of BJP`s national agenda
owing to its political importance.

Staying clear of questions on chances of his former
party colleague, Kalyan Singh returning to BJP, Rajnath Singh
however took offence to use of derogatory words against senior
leaders.
"One should exercise restraint while commenting on senior
leaders of the stature of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari
Vajpayee and that too in Parliament," Singh said while
referring to Congress MP, Beni Prasad Verma`s derogatory
remarks on Vajpayee.

"The party leaders and workers were seriously offended
over Verma`s use of certain intemperate words against
Vajpayeeji. Had there not been an apology from the Prime
Minister, there would have been an agitation," he added.
