Ramdev`s remarks on Sonia: Court reserves order

A local court reserved its order till Friday on a petition filed against Ramdev for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Sonia Gandhi.

Indore: A local court on Thursday reserved its order till Friday on a petition filed against Yoga Guru Ramdev for allegedly making defamatory remarks against UPA
chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

District and Sessions Judge MK Mudgal after hearing the petition of Ramkishore Pandit (80), reserved the judgment till November 25.

The petitioner`s counsel Shailendra Dwivedi said Pandit had moved a lower court in September on the basis of a report published in a local newspaper. However, the petition was rejected by the court and a revision petition was filed.

Citing the newspaper report, he alleged that Ramdev had in December 2010 used harsh words and insulted Sonia and the Gandhi family at Arariya in Bihar during a yoga camp.

Pandit, a freedom fighter, was `hurt` with the statement made by Ramdev and filed the petition against him.
