Ramesh wants a new home for his ministry

Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh is literally trying to put his house in order.

The Minister said efforts are on to construct a new
building for his Ministry as he wants all of its divisions
under one roof.

The Minister said five key departments of his ministry are
functioning in five separate buildings in around Lutyens`
Delhi as the Krishi Bhavan, where the main office of the
Ministry is located, does not have space to house all its
divisions.

Asked what was his major worries in the Rural Development
Ministry, he said "the condition of the ceiling of the rooms
and toilets in the ministry offices at Krishi Bhavan".
While interacting with journalists, Ramesh said he has
already held one round of meeting with the Central Public
Works Department officials about the new building for the
Ministry planned at Curzon Road.

Ramesh also said he wanted the Rural Development
Ministry, which has an annual budgetory provision of around Rs
one lakh crore, to be part of the Economic Editors`
Conference.
