Lucknow: SP leader Ranjana Bajpai, who was stripped of the Minister of State status by Akhilesh Government after the party`s rout in Lok Sabha polls, was on Saturday nominated as the national president of the party`s women wing.

Bajpai, who was advisor in State Planning Commission, has been nominated as the national president of Samajwadi Mahila Sabha by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, party`s national spokesman Ramgopal Yadav said in a statement.

It has been expected from Bajpai, former Chairman of State Women Commission, to constitute National Executive within 15 days and get it approved by the party supremo.
