RDX seizure: Investigators probing Pak angle

Security agencies are probing whether explosives seized in Ambala was sent to India from Pak by fugitive Jagtar Singh Tara of Khalistan Tiger Force.

New Delhi: Security agencies are probing
whether the explosives seized in Ambala was sent to India from
Pakistan by fugitive Jagtar Singh Tara of Khalistan Tiger
Force, sources said on Saturday.

Tara, convicted in Beant Singh assassination case and
escaped from Burail jail a few years back, could be behind the
fresh efforts to target Delhi or Punjab, they said.

A joint team of Delhi and Haryana police found explosives
in a blue Indica car parked outside the railway station
earlier this week following an intelligence tip-off that a
consignment carrying the substance was headed to a north
Indian metropolis.
Following the seizure of the explosives, Delhi and other
metros were put on high alert and security was strengthened.
Sources said some terror modules were active in the
capital and security agencies were working on the information.

Police had strengthened security in the court complexes,
particularly in Patiala House complex, following the seizure
of explosives.

Sources said the car entered Jammu and Kashmir via
Lakhanpur, bordering Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab on October 4
and exited the state on October 12.

Delhi Police had said that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and
Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) had joined hands to plot a
terror strike in the national capital ahead of Diwali
following the recovery of the explosive-laden car.

The seizure of the car in Ambala on Thursday came
following a trail of inputs provided by central intelligence
agencies that a car was headed to Delhi via Ambala with
explosives and detonators.
