Respect verdict of Parliament: PM tells Team Anna

New Delhi: In a clear message to Team Anna, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday asked the activists to respect the verdict of the Parliament on the Lokpal Bill.

"Legislation is the privilege of the Indian Parliament. That is what the Constitution says... When Parliament has spoken it is time for other persons to take note," he told reporters when asked about Team Anna's criticism of the Lokpal Bill passed by the Lok Sabha.

"We hope that those with divergent views will respect the verdict of the parliament," he said at a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.

Singh said that the Lok Sabha had passed a Lokpal bill with a substantial majority.

"The bill will be presented to the Rajya Sabha tomorrow and I hope it will be passed," he said.

Even as Anna Hazare abruptly called off his three-day fast for a strong Lokpal, his supporters attacked the government for a "weak" Lokpal Bill that was passed by the Lok Sabha.

Dear Annaji we are disappoint about that corrupted congress has pass the weak Lokpal bill in Loksabha and this time again honesty has defeated from corruptions but we will not give our fight we will continue it full country is supporting you but this corrupted congress led upa government has made everythings so costly that people if don`t go to work can`t arrange that day meal for their family and this is the reason people has not taken too much participation in this Dharna but now water has flown from our head we need to do somethings like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose & Bhagat Singh did. We are bound to save our contry from corrupted congress and it`s allies hand. I am thankfull to BJP that they are still fighting for strong Lokpal bill let see what happened otherwise now people will not only come to street they will show exit gate to Congress and it`s allies permanently.

Kans Maharaj too said the state (Kans himself) is supreme and anything the state decides is lawful. So Kansa Maharaj started associating with the Asur Rajas and started looting his own people. Nobody could stop him, since the state was supreme and the only law. Then people started wishing for a Taaranhaar. And he came. He restored the power of the people again and served all his life as servant of the people. He broke the rule, set by Kans, that an injust state is supreme and the sole law. His teaching was: only Dharma is Supreme and only those laws which are Dharmic can be universal law. Doesn`t India learn anything from its Great Great leaders of the glorious past? Why the need to ape the West in each and everything?

In my humble opinion, it is very sad day that the wisdom, character, and tradition of fairness and justice for all that Indian old philosophy coming and proven through ages is totally ignored and contradicted by the voting power of elected officials. I had hoped that the wisdom will prevail. Unfortunately, greedy corrupt officials are dictating their terms against the will and expectations of the people. I hope the real awakening will come forth to uniting all Indians agaist the people who breed graft, corruption, and bribery that is destructive foundation for any system. Please use your wisdom, which India has in abundance, to get rid of this evil spirit, the destroyer of everything. Thanks. Respectfully submitted. Onkar

I STILL FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE FELLOW COUNTRYMEN WANT A LOKPAL ! WHY CANT WE OURSELVES MAKE US SELF DISCIPLINED AND SAY NO TO CORRUPTION ! EVEN IF IT TAKES LITTLE TROUBLE ! AFTER ALL IT IS A LAW WHICH WILL AND CAN BE APPLIED AGAINST ANY ONE FOUND CORRUPT WE ALL KNOW THAT THE ONE WHO GIVES BRIBE IS ALSO EQUALLY GUILTY AND WILL FALL UNDER LOKPAL JURISDICTION ! WHO HAS IT BEEN APPLIED TO AND THE PERSON FEELS IT IS WEAK ? WE ARE A FREE SOCIETY AND STILL WANT SOME ONE TO CHECK ON US !!! COME ON DO SELF INTROSPECT .

Dear Nikhil, It seems that you are very ignorant about the meaning of free and freedom. There is nothing free in this world. You have to work and behave in a certain manner that are called rules of the game that applies to every humankind. So freedom is guided by certain principles of humanlife that applies to every humankind. Furthermore as you might know that we may have equal rights but we have different levels of capabilities and potentials. We may be rewarded based on performance but still we have to follow the minimum common rules, like honesty, character and integrity etc. We are therefore judged by these characterics along with performance. Furthermore you must know that no body is holier than the other presumption. These rules judge or delineate the honest and the corrupt or fraud perpetrator. Can you see that how equal we might be but our actions differentiate us as good hard working honest human being versus the corrupt mindset and their corrupt actions. This is the reason strict control monitor are needed to isolate the corrupt mindset from the normal good humankind. I wish we all could behave same way, but the real life does not work that way. Hope it helps. Thanks.

Hello, PMji I personally respect you as Manmohanji, but no to your chair.you are acting not in the interest of my country. I dont have find any member in the Parliment really honest to this country. No Most of them are unfit to sit in that important chair, what to do it is our democracy. I may not be right but still i believe the verdict that you contest is funny, i wonder why all politicians are so scary, because most of them are corrupt and Antinational
