Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Saturday said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar`s returning the flood relief money received from Gujarat government was "nothing but an absurdity."
"Yeh ek Oocchi Harkat se Kam nahin hai (It is nothing short of an absurdity," Prasad told reporters when approached for his comment on Kumar returning Rs five crore, lying unspent in the CM`s relief fund, to Gujarat.
He also wanted to know from the Chief Minister where had he parked the amount. "Where have you kept the money and why did you not spend the amount received in 2008?" Prasad said.
"Your (CM`s) action has defamed Bihar... Now, people will think before extending support to the state at the hours of natural calamities or devastation," Prasad said.
"Your political enmity with Modi has nothing to do with the relief... after all, it was the hard-earned money of the people of Gujarat," RJD leader said.
He accused Kumar of failing to reach relief to the people of the Kosi belt.
