Roads blocked for Wen, Sonia walks to 7 RCR Zeenews Bureau

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday evening walk down to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence for the private dinner hosted in honour for Wen Jiabao as the road was barricaded to facilitate the movement of the visiting dignitary’s cavalcade.

She walked for almost half a kilometre right upto the outer gate of 7 Race Course Road before geeting into a vehicle that took her to the PM’s residence.

The dinner was attended by a select few guests like Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar, leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her counterpart in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, BJD leader Jay Panda and National Security Adviser Shivshanker Menon.

A packed programme awaits Wen who would hold delegation-level talks with Dr Singh today when both leaders would discuss some of the key issues, including India's concern over stapled visas to residents of Jammu and Kashmir and trade ties and UN Security Council.

So if mrs. sonia gandhi is walking half a kilometre then whats a big deal in this to be a front page news? i dont understand the logic as millions of indians walk everyday more than the distance she has walked on one day.. stop treating politicians like her as kings/queens and common people like slaves. we all know what mrs. gandhi was before getting married to mr. rajiv gandhi..
india never got freedom, its rule was given from a british monarchy to corrupt and stupid politicians who are puppets in hands of international agencies. Jai Hind!
