Bihar ahead of Gujarat in development: RSS chief Zeenews Bureau

New Delhi: In what might leave Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi red-faced, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat recently showered praise on Bihar’s development model.

Bhagwat even said Bihar was ahead of Gujarat in terms of development.

However, while interacting with some foreign journalists a cautious RSS chief said his opinion was that of the common man and not his personal. Maintaining a guarded approach, the RSS chief said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh states are also governed well.

Bhagwat’s statement assumes great significance as in June 2012 he had supported Narendra Modi for prime ministership and slammed Nitish Kumar for saying that NDA should have a secular PM nominee.

Nitish Kumar led JD(U) is the biggest ally of BJP and the saffron party would not want to annoy the Bihar Chief Minister.

In the recent past, Nitish Kumar has openly advocated his stand against Narendra Modi being projected as the NDA’s prime ministerial candidate.

A few days back, BJP president Nitin Gadkari held a luncheon meeting with Kumar where the duo discussed issues ranging from development index to 2014 General elections.

Sources indicated that Gadkari’s luncheon meeting was part of the ongoing exercise to mend broken fences with the alliance partners affiliated with the NDA.

Reports also suggest that the RSS top brass is upset with Modi’s highhandedness in the dropping of Sanjay Joshi from the BJP national executive held in May in Mumbai.

For the last several years, Modi has been successful in projecting his ``vibrant Gujarat`` as a role model of economic growth and himself as ``Vikas Purush``. Though one must give due credit to Modi for his effective skills in making projections, one must also critically analyse this ``growth story of Gujarat`` based on facts and figures. Regretfully, as one examines the facts since Modi came to power in Gujarat in 2001, the story appears to be hollow and, at times, contrary to what is being projected.

How can Modi and his followers could forget that there is no no development in rural and tribal areas of Gujarat? Modi has hired PR agencies to project himself as man of development and one who can become the PM but the reality on grass root is totally different. Modi has allowed industrialist to loot Gujarat and if he becomes PM, he will let entire world to loot India...

Very true, Modi brought Bihar to this level from scratch whereas Gujarat was already a developed state when Modi took over in 2001. Modi only knows how to sell himself. Jai Bihar

Hey guys its not the matter of who is developed and who is not developed.if Gujrat is developed there is also hand of Jharkhand and Bihar who supplied coal with same price all over India. As prime ministrial post is concerned Nithish is the right candidate he is honest, secular and talented. He was strong supporter of Jai Prakash Narayans movement for Anticorruption.More over he is engineering graduate fron NIT.

As far as development of Gujrat and Bihar is concerned its a long run process no doubt both Narendra and Nitish doing great job.As a professional I want to say India dont need diplomat or politicians we needs honest, secular, sincere and talented person to hold Prime Ministrial seat for the development of the nation. If Abdul Kalam can be the best president of India why cant Nitish he is talanted having engineering degree from NIT ,was a strong supporter of Jaiprakash Narayan Movement againt Corruption, have also visited many countries.

What ever others think I don`t know,my personal opinion is that Bihar needs another 25 years to be at par with Gujarat and Mr Nitish kumar should not eye the PM post with 30Mps on the card.Isse achha hai ki Sunny leone ko nominate kardo,I bet she will be able to comfortably beat Nitishji in terms of number of supports from MPs.

Congratulations to Bihar government for its achievement, but in any case the statement of Nitish by itself was non-secular as hatred is not a sign of secularism.Where did he find Modi non-secular.He has controlled Gujarat well for ten years by maintaing peace all through this period which by itself a sign of good governance.Vendetta politics is not good for anyone.Yes, 2002 riots is a bad sign when Modi just became the CM and he used all possible means to control. It was only and only that congress has been using its available means to lable Modi in that colour.

BIHAR - PATNA
We all know what Bihar is and which direction it is going. Worthless to compare with Gujarat, Or Modi. Ask RSS Man why he is making this type of statement. Bihar is 1,000 times behind Gujarat what I have seen/felt.
