New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday informed Parliament that he has accepted Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi’s resignation and forwarded the same to the President for acceptance.

While responding to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, Prime Minister Singh said, "I regret the departure of Shri Trivedi."

“I had received an email last night. Then I got a formal letter by Shri Dinesh Trivedi tendering his resignation... I have forwarded the resignation letter to the President and proposed that it be accepted.

“We will have a new Rail Minister soon,” the PM added.

Trinamool Congress’ Trivedi was forced to quit as Railway Minister by his party chief after he raised passenger fares in the Rail Budget presented last week.

This is the real pic of indian politics now a days. This is very sad to know that a person like trivide had to go because he wanted to revive the lifeline of indians i.e. indian railway. I have a question if the railway belongs to mamata``s personal property then would she did the same as she had done with mr trivedi. Congratulation dineshji for loving my beloved country. many thanks for your opinion. Jai hind.

Very sad that we lost an able Railway MInister. The Railway fare was increased after so many years, therefore it is for the sake of railway and for GOI, for the nation. Great Loss. Regret.

We are sad because some of Congress senior ministers should have been thrown out long back, but still they are clinging to the posts. Honest and dedicated person has to go is a sorry state of affairs. It is a vote bank politics playing.

If this is the cae then even hon finance miniter also has to resign, as so many hikes have been done. This is nothing but a deerit odf democracy. There are ways and means to tackle any issue. If only resignation is the only answer for all decisions every day in each state and central govt some are the other issues attracting this type of capital punishment for evry minister,CM or PM or any other democratic authority.

Resignation of Railway minister Dineshji`s indicates value of party leadership must not be questioned by party members. His performance, education level may be out of question, after all he belongs to a political party.Break of this discipline indicates the person is unfit to carry his job.I don`t know whether it is a lesson to Mr.Somnath Chatterjee or Dr.Manmohan Singh who assured Mr.Chatterjee by saying ``Main Hoo naa``After a long days it proved CPIM was correct by opposing nuclear power plants and expelling Mr.Chatterjee from his party.I think ``for poor India`s shake`` is a lame excuse in most of the cases.

Mamata donot understand what is Budget. She is poor in economic every person while welcome Dinesh Trivedi budget I have not understand why she force him to quit. Let Congress deal with other party other wise she will destroy the railway.

Its so sad to see this. Man who tries to do something good gets sacked. DIDI has no brains at all. I think AAM AADMI will prefer paying some money more rather than dying in some railway accident due to poor tracks which he proposed to change. Railways need money for maintaenance work. What a stupid world.

Mr. PM, we knew that u were unable to protect AAM Admi, but it is sadning to know that u r unable to protect even ur ministerial colleague as well, Feel sad for u.
