New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, has thanked BCCI and its president for their support in these tough times for the cricketer but says the treatment could have started much before. "I don't want to blame anyone. But I feel that things could have been different today. If you recall, two years when Yuvi was playing in a T20 match at Mohali and played match-winning innings, in which after hitting a six he came running towards Suresh Raina and could be seen coughing badly," Yograj said. "But I knew that something was wrong...six months back the doctor who saw the laboratory reports of Yuvraj had pleaded that he should be taken to the US for treatment. " he added. Commenting on the state of Yuvraj’s diagnosis, he said the southpaw was responding well to the treatment and will emerge a better player after recovering from the illness. “Yuvraj is being treated by the same doctor who once treated Lance Armstrong and he will emerge stronger and even a better player after recovering from the illness becoming the greatest of all times.” he said. Yograj Singh, who is a former cricketer, says the treatment might take 4-6 months. "The doctors are of the opinion that this treatment may take 4-6 months or even a year. He might get well by March. The doctors are saying that Yuvraj will go back as a new champion," he told a news channel. With PTI inputs
