Senior JD(U) leader and former vice-chairman of the state legislative council Virendra Kumar Choudhary today accused CM Nitish Kumar of "hijacking" the party.

Patna: Senior JD(U) leader and former
vice-chairman of the state legislative council Virendra Kumar
Choudhary today accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of
"hijacking" the party and announced that he would join Lalu
Prasad`s RJD at a function here on July 31 in protest.

"I will join the RJD in presence of Lalu Prasad here on
July 31," Choudhary told reporters here.

He said Prasad had assured him of giving a party ticket
to him to contest the assembly elections from Jhanjharpur in
Madhubani district.

Alleging that Chief Minister was "behaving like a
dictator," he said he felt "humiliated and slighted" after
being removed from the post of Vice Chairman of the
legislative council just within nine months.

"It is a constitutional post rewarded by the JD(U)
because of my commitment and hard labour that paid a rich
dividend with the NDA candidates emerging victorious from
eight assembly constituencies in Madhubani belt," he said and
alleged that Kumar had "no no respect" for partymen.

"I don`t want to stay in a party within which I feel
suffocated and have decided to resign before switching over to
RJD," he added.
