Several trains cancelled in winter

Anticipating foggy conditions during winter, railways have decided to cancel 40 trains between December 20 and February 2.

during winter, railways have decided to cancel 40 trains
between December 20 and February 2 next year and partially
cancel eight other trains during this period.
The cancelled trains include Kanpur-New Delhi-Kanpur
Shatabdi Express, Allahabad-Haridwar, Varanasi-Dehradun
Express as well as Sitamani-Anand Vihar Lichchvi Express and
Lucknow-Chandigarh-Lucknow express, said a Northern Railway
spokesperson.

He said the passengers are being informed in advance
about the cancellations as the reservation period for the
trains spreads over three months.

The spokesperson said eight trains will remain partially
cancelled during the period. The Kolkata-Delhi Janata Express
will not run between Kanpur and Delhi junction while Gorakhpur
-Anwarganj Chauri Chaura Express will not run between
Allahabad and Anwarganj.
Allahabad-Chandigarh Express will not run between Kanpur
and Chandigarh and Howrah-Sri Ganga Nagar Express will not ply
between Mughal Sarai and Sri Ganga Nagar during the period, he
said.

Some other trains will run on diverted routes, he added.
