New Delhi: HRD Minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday underlined the need for a more interactive relationship between police and public to find solutions to problems faced by citizens.

Addressing a district level meeting of police, politicians and representatives of Residents Welfare Associations and businesses, Sibal said interaction between police officials, public representatives and members of RWAs are very essential to face the challenges of the present day society.

"In a consumer-oriented society with problems of migrant population, burgeoning prosperity along with poor people, disparity in income and status of people, it is essential to have regular meetings so that the problems of the people are well understood and are sorted out," Sibal was quoted as saying in a statement.

The meeting was organised to promote interaction among public representatives, police officers, representatives of civic agencies, RWAs, trade and industry and other organizations.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Rajesh Lilothia, Shoab Iqbal and Prahlad Singh Sahni among others. Lilothia, said that friendly nature of police helps in solving of crime.

Vivek Kishore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), said community policing initiatives will be taken in various areas of the district to deal with specific problems.

Mr. Sibal is talking about Delhi Police. Police force that helped mobs kill thousands of innocent persons in 1984 Sikh Genocide. The Police force that has failed to charge and punish the guilty persons in more than 26 years. One main reason for their failure to charge guilty persons was that than they would have to charge hundreds of their own guilty officers. So the Delhi police and ruling Congress leadership decided to close their eyes and act as if nothing had happened in Delhi. I don`t think that we can ever expect fair and quick action against criminals from Delhi police or ruling Congress Govts.
