Sibal to attend India-UAE forum on knowledge eco

India and UAE will explore avenues for cooperation in the education sector in pursuit of developing a knowledge economy, as a high-level panel to be attended by Kapil Sibal and his Emirati counterpart.

Dubai: India and UAE will explore avenues
for cooperation in the education sector in pursuit of
developing a knowledge economy, as a high-level panel to be
attended by Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal and his Emirati
counterpart, begins its deliberations tomorrow.

The conclave will be jointly addressed by Human
Resource Development Minister Sibal and UAE Minister for
Higher Education Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, it was
announced here today.

The panel will be followed by a discussion involving
government officials, academics, businesspeople and
mediapersons from both countries. Several government
dignitaries and investors in the education sectors are also
scheduled to attend.

The forum is being organised by Dubai-based management
consultancy Indian Expressions, in partnership with The Centre
of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT).

The forum will focus on a knowledge economy and the
importance of evolving a sustainable economy and address the
strength and challenges of the two countries in the field.

They will also explore opportunities for public-
private partnerships in education and present huge
opportunities in skilled and semi-skilled vocational training.

Making the announcement, founder & CEO of Indian
Expressions Malini N Menon said: "We are particularly
interested in creating and nurturing a sustainable forum that
explores public-private partnership in Education & HRD in the
context of the exciting changes taking in both the UAE and
India".

Menon said the UAE`s mindset revolving around building
human capital is reflected in the government`s emphasis that
"spending in education is the most feasible investment in the
future" and has made the UAE-the perfect venue for such an
important conclave.

Indian Expressions brings together business forces
from the UAE and India in ventures aimed at promoting cross
investment opportunities and establishing networking forums
that facilitate greater interaction between the business
leaders of both countries.
