Dubai: India and UAE will explore avenues
for cooperation in the education sector in pursuit of
developing a knowledge economy, as a high-level panel to be
attended by Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal and his Emirati
counterpart, begins its deliberations tomorrow.
The conclave will be jointly addressed by Human
Resource Development Minister Sibal and UAE Minister for
Higher Education Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, it was
announced here today.
The panel will be followed by a discussion involving
government officials, academics, businesspeople and
mediapersons from both countries. Several government
dignitaries and investors in the education sectors are also
scheduled to attend.
The forum is being organised by Dubai-based management
consultancy Indian Expressions, in partnership with The Centre
of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT).
The forum will focus on a knowledge economy and the
importance of evolving a sustainable economy and address the
strength and challenges of the two countries in the field.
They will also explore opportunities for public-
private partnerships in education and present huge
opportunities in skilled and semi-skilled vocational training.
