Sonia Gandhi, Mamata to flag off 12 trains on Feb 7

Nearly 12 trains including a Shatabdi express and two Durontos will be flagged off on February 7 from Kanpur by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

New Delhi: Nearly 12 trains including a
Shatabdi express and two Durontos will be flagged off on
February 7 from Kanpur by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and
Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The services of some other trains will also be extended
on the day.
According to a senior Railway Ministry official, while
some trains will be flagged off by them from Kanpur, the
others leaving from other parts of Uttar Pradesh will be
flagged off through remote control.

The new trains include Kanpur-New Delhi Shatabdi Express,
Lucknow-New Delhi Duronto express and Allahabad-New Delhi
Duronto express, Agra-Lucknow Intercity express,
Gorakhpur-Mumbai express and Lucknow-Yashwantpur express among
others.

Extension in service of several trains is also expected
on the same day.
While Mumbai-Kanpur Udyog Nagari express will be
extended up to Pratapgarh, Howrah-Agra Cantt Chambal Express
will be extended up to Mathura. Similarly, Durg-Gorakhpur
express will be extended up to Nautanwa.

Banerjee had earlier said that most of the trains
announced in last year`s Railway Budget will be commissioned
by the end of the ongoing financial year.
