Sri Sri Ravi Shankar flays Husain for nude paintings

Bangalore: Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Monday expressed surprise over the "hue and cry" over painter MF Husain's move to give up Indian citizenship and chided him for painting Indian gods in the nude.

"While India has a policy of free expression, one cannot accept blatant insult to the heroes of its land. It is the intention behind a man's creativity which is questionable," Ravi Shankar said in a statement.

"In one of Husain's paintings of Mahatma Gandhi, Karl Marx, Albert Einstein and Hitler, he painted only Hitler nude and said that his way of humiliating a person is to paint him nude.

"No one has ever sculpted Rama and Sita as nude. Creative expression is always welcome. No country has been as liberal as India... Any nude woman could have been painted by him but calling the women Sita, Lakshmi (and) Saraswati shows his perversion and hatred.

"Will MF Husain show the same creativity and the same spirit with Islamic heroes and would he, then, be able retain his Qatari citizenship?

Double standards, bias and hatred do not go well with men of excellence."

why has m f husain painted hindu deities not only in the nude but in blasphemous postures of sexuality, including bestiality? he says that in indian culture nudity is a symbol of purity. but he has also said that he paints those figures in the nude whom he dislikes, like hitler. he claims to love india so he shows her in the total nude, because obviously he finds mother india `pure`. but where is the nude painting of his mother? is she impure? this sex-obsessed painter uses hanuman`s tail, ganesha`s trunk, raavan`s genitals, mounts of gods and goddesses like durga`s tiger, saraswati`s peacock and others as phallic symbols.he uses art as mart, so he should be called as a martist, a mercenary who has sold his soul to the devil. he paints india not only nude but also red- the colour of all leftists - marxists to maoists. in the rape of india two terrorist bulls are raping india. he loves to call himself mcbull (maqbool?). so it is he and his fellow islamic terrorists who are trying to rape india. in the light of this ,does he need the certificate of patriotism from his hypocritical secularist admirers, not knowing even the abc of art?
