New Delhi: BJP on Friday said that the reservations
voiced by some states on formation of NCTC is a "virtual
no-confidence" against the UPA dispensation as the proposed
body does not keep the state governments in the loop and
"breaches" federal autonomy.
"Several state governments, including UPA ally TMC, and
BJD chief Naveen Patnaik have protested against the NCTC...
States are not happy with the way the Centre is functioning.
This (NCTC) is against federal autonomy. It has cast a real
shadow on the central government," BJP spokesperson Rajiv
Pratap Rudy said.
The Rajya Sabha MP alleged the Centre does not want to
keep state governments in the loop in the fight against terror
and its belief that states will not act is misplaced.
"This lack of confidence in the states against the Centre
is a matter of concern. It is a virtual no-confidence against
the Centre," Rudy said.
