Suresh Akhouri re-elected Indian Journalist Union President

Suresh Akhouri of Delhi Union of Journalists has been re-elected unanimously as president of Indian Journalists Union (IJU).



Ahmedabad: Suresh Akhouri of Delhi Union
of Journalists has been re-elected unanimously as president of
Indian Journalists Union (IJU).

He was re-elected to the top post at an election held
here yesterday, a release said on Saturday.

G Prabhakaran, President of Kerala Journalists Union,
was elected unopposed to the post of Secretary General of IJU.
B R Prajapati, Central Returning Officer (CRO) for IJU
election, declared the results.

Other office-bearers will be elected by National
Council members at the next plenary session of IJU, which
claims to represent over 15,000 journalists in the country,
the release said.
Election of National Council members are in progress
in various IJU-affiliated state unions, it added.
