Swamy accuses UPA govt of trying to defame RSS

Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy demanded that the PM directed the Home Ministry to issue a White Paper on the "so-called phenomenon" of Hindu Terror.

Chennai: Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday demanded that the Prime Minister direct the Home Ministry to issue a White Paper on the "so-called phenomenon" of Hindu Terror and accused the UPA government of "sponsoring" a conspiracy to defame the RSS.

In a statement here, Swamy said the attempt to foist the Samjhauta Express terrorist attack and at other places on the Hindu community "is getting more and more ridiculous." He said Swami Aseemananda`s alleged confession about involvement in the Samjhauta blast appeared to be a "mirror image" of the confession made in custody in 2008 by the LeT operative Nagori, who had also owned responsibilty for it.
"The UPA government should therefore make it clear which confession they are now accepting and which is the one they are rejecting."

Swamy said the White Paper should "lay bare all the official information on file on the so called Hindu Terror."
"We cannot allow the government to enable Pakistan to make a propaganda about Hindu Terror without full transparency on the issue."

Charging that linking the RSS to terror attacks was a government-sponsored conspiracy to defame it, he said, "just as we do not blame the Congress for the Anti-Sikh terror because of H K L Bhagat and Sajjan Kumar, in the same way we cannot drag the RSS into the terror charge because of a few individuals."
