New Delhi: The authorities on Thursday granted permission to Team Anna to hold a day-long protest at Jantar Mantar to step up pressure on the Lokpal issue.
According to reports, Team Anna intends to hold a symbolic day-long protest rally at Jantar Mantar since it is not happy with the Parliamentary Standing Committee’s recommendations on the bill.
Anna is also planning to hold a fast-unto-death if the government fails to pass a strong anti-graft legislation in the current Winter Session of Parliament.
Team Anna has also sought permission from MCD for Anna’s proposed fast-unto-death starting December 27 till January 5 at the historic Ramlila Ground.
Anna’s plan to hold a day-long protest is being seen as an effort to build pressure on the UPA government, which is averse to the inclusion of Prime Minister under the ambit of the anti-corruption watchdog.
