Team Anna in dilemma over targeting Congress Zeenews Bureau

Ghaziabad: The Core Committee of Team Anna met here on Monday, sans the ailing social activist Anna Hazare, amid confusion of whether or not to target Congress during the upcoming Assembly elections.

Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan and other Team Anna members attended the deliberations during which they discussed the future course of action, including "short term and long term strategy" of the movement.

The members who attended the meeting were of the view that Team Anna should not target one single party, sources said.

Some Team Anna members are of the opinion that they deliberated on its anti-Congress line taken during its campaigns earlier as it was being accused of being pro-BJP.

The Core Committee left it to Hazare to take a final call on its future strategy, including whether or not to target any single political party during the state elections.

This was the first meeting of the team after Hazare called off his agitation on Lokpal last month.

The meeting came against the backdrop of poor public response to Hazare's agitation in Mumbai and Delhi in the last week of December and taunts from Congress on its anti-Congress plank.

Kejriwal and Bhushan will go to Ralegan Siddhi on Tuesday and present before Hazare the suggestions that emerged in the meeting.

"We discussed the pros and cons of various suggestions. We discussed the future programmes. We discussed how to build the campaign. No decision has been taken as Anna and some other members were not present here," prominent Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan said.

Hazare did not attend the meeting as he was not keeping well. Doctors had advised him not to undertake any tour for at least a month due to his health conditions.

IMHO, the movement has become rather `old` and people always want new masala. Bottem line: Congress has beaten Anna`s team and all of us common-man

/Namoskar/ I don’t agree with some of views written regarding Shri Anna Hazare’s movement against corruption, because no party indeed desires to pass strong Jan Lokpal Bill, so no question the movement is in supporting of BJP/or any other party. So I am of the opinion if Annaji’s Core Committee Members has to start new political party to pass strong Jan Lokpal Bill and choose candidates (by binding in a bond duly signed that in the event of corruption he can be penalized for 10 years rigorous imprisonment compulsorily as well as disproportionately accumulated assets whether on his name or relatives names to be attached to Govt.) who desires to serve nation without any corruption. Everyone is aware that Shri Anna Hazare’s movement is supported by all people without any religion/caste & creed against corruption but some corrupted politicians reject the movement as well as strong Jan Lokpal bill in Parliament, ruling party (Congress) is also willfully brought a weak Lokpal Bill in winter session of Parliament and cheated Shri Annaji by going back on assurances given (in August 2011) since April, 2011.

At this point of time we should search and find a DICTATOR. He should have good qualities. He should not have any bias on caste, religion etc. He shoould correct the wrong doings of the law makers including Babasaheb Ambedkar. Reservations in name of caste should be removed instead economically backward people should be given some facilities. This facilities should not affect admissions in educational institutions, promotions etc. The common people should be served. A lot of things are expected. I do not find any qualities in this IAC / anna team. All this people are there to save themselves. If a good dictator will take the charge, with most of the politicians this nteam also will be punished

A fact that Annaji and his team is apolitical can not be ruled out. If they have fallen short of politicians who have been doing their job to retain their seats either in Govt or Parliament, should not be disaapointing to either the team or supporters of the Anti Corruption Movement. Annaji has rightly said that this is second struggle of freedom and a too short time frame for accomplishment is unrealistic. I would repeat that - Jan Lok Pal Bill is lovely Dark and Deep, but we have promises to keep, miles to go before we sleep, miles to go before we sleep.``

Team Anna, dont loose heart. No movement is perfect. If your intentions are clear you will easily learn to overcome herdles and setbacks. In a way it was good that the Mumbai fiasco happened because it has forced you`ll to start thinking differently. This battle is far from being won ... just crowd support cannot be the only factor helping you to pressurize the govt. It has to be backed by solid argruments, right initiatives and correct political thinking ..even if the movement is apolitical. I urge all of you to take a step back and focus on the core of your demands and then accordingly replan your strategy. Dont try and get into something that will distract you`ll from the main goal.

Due to the pro-BJP stand taken by you, the people understood that you are interested in creating anti-Congress wave and to continue the thamasha for your benefit. Stop this nonsense and do some other work which can benefit to you. None of you are above corruption as the facts reveals

Arvind ji whatever is your future course of action, but never form a political party because this is what the corrupt establishment wants.Never feel that you are losing your base.It was only because of working day in Mumbai that drew less people but by the end second day the people had just started to pour in.But unfortunately Annaji`s health had already deteriorated which made it impossible to continue the fast.I reteirate NEVER THINK OF FORMING A POLITICAL PARTY.

Team Anna wearing a secular mask, claiming to be apolitical is fast showing its true colours in talking communal BJP`s language of hatgred, il-will and enemity against congress party. By now, it is amply clear that Team Anna and their boss Anna Haazare are all fulfilling the agenda of their masters BJP/RSS. Having started with a fan fare in Ram Lilla maidan, Delhi, Anna Hazare and his Team Anna are no longer the crowd pullers, because people have realised Anna Hazare and his Team Anna`s worth Anat amount of anti-congress campaigns and wicked slogans will have no effect on the people who know that Anna Hazare and Team Anna are no apolitical. Instead they are pro BJP.
