Tell Pakistan clearly that terror and talks can`t go together: Venkaiah Naidu

India should send a strong message to Pakistan that it must walk the talk in checking terror activities on its soil before bilateral talks resume between the countries, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said.

Hyderabad: India should send a strong message to Pakistan that it must walk the talk in checking terror activities on its soil before bilateral talks resume between the countries, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said here on Friday.
"Pakistan should be made to understand that they should honour the January 6 statement of 2004 where Pervez Musharraf gave a solemn assurance to the country that Pakistan will not allow its soil to be used for terror. They should first walk the talk. Then only we should talk to Pakistan," he told reporters. He alleged that the Centre rushed to talks even before the country reconciled to the killing of Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC). "I would like to tell the Government of India, the way in which they are dealing with the Pakistan`s aggression in a casual manner is not at all in the interest of the country. "Even before the country has not yet reconciled to the killing of our jawans, the Foreign Affairs minister was quick enough to say that the Prime Minister will go and have talks with Nawaz Sharif. Salman Khurshid, please try to understand, terror and talks cannot go together. This should be the message to Pakistan," he said. PTI
