New Delhi: The government on Thursday said the
terrorism emanating from Pakistan remains a "core concern" and
New Delhi has sought a firm and abiding commitment from
Islamabad that it will not allow its territory to be used for
aiding and abetting terrorist activity against India.
"Terrorism emanating from territory under Pakistan`s
control remains a core concern for us," Minister of State for
External Affairs E Ahamed said in written reply to Rajya
He added, "This is precisely why India has sought a firm
and abiding commitment from Pakistan that it will not allow
territory under its control to be used for aiding and abetting
of terrorist activity against India and for providing
sanctuary to such terrorist groups."
Ahmed was responding to a question whether it was a fact
that Pakistan military and intelligence have not abandoned its
policy of supporting militant groups as tools in dispute with
India over Kashmir.
