The media trial now going against Thomas was not correct and it should be stopped, he said. 'I am appealing to you (media) to stop the vilification against Thomas', he said.

'What is happening now is a media trial without jury, without justice and without defence', Tharoor said. 'It is a question of once integrity, he added.

Govt takes decision to make appointment to the post like this only after going through once records, he said.

The IAS officers association had openly supported him; he said adding that was very rare thing to happen.

I am surprised that a highly educated and mature person taking a stance on a matter pending with the Highest Judicial Institute of our Nation. Possibly it stemmed from the consideration that both of them belong to the same State!
Even the Association had exceeded their role and in legal terms committed contempt of the court. Should one not consider it as an unconscienable intrusion into the realm of another arms function out of should I say misplaced arrogance. I feel the Court ought to educate this Association and their principle officers, that there is a provision called
AMECUS CURIAE, by which they could seek permission of the Court and participate during the adjudication of the issue. It is a sad state of affairs if the Assn keeps poking their nose in others provinces.
