New Delhi: With the all important 2014 General Elections are just a few months away, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Monday that there were no untouchables in politics, as per reports.

Pawar`s NCP is an ally of the Congress and is supporting the UPA government at the Centre. The NCP chief is part of the Union Cabinet and is the Agriculture Minister.

The Congress-led UPA government has been besieged by a host of scams and has been accused of policy paralysis. Also, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been often blamed by various quarters for remaining a mute spectator on various contentious issues confronting the country and for not acting in time. Thus, it said that the Congress faces the arduous task of going to the electorate asking them to vote the party back to power, notwithstanding the RTI Act, the Food Security Bill and the Land Acquisition Act.

On the other hand, the BJP which was seen to be beset by infighting has seen a wave of resurgence in its cadre after it named Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the party`s prime ministerial candidate for 2104, as per experts.

However, it is also being said that both the national parties might not get enough seats on its own next year and will require allies to form the government. At the same time, talks of a Third Front formation also surfaces from time to time.
