New Delhi: The traditional ceremonials for
President Pratibha Patil at the airports come to an end from
tomorrow and she will be given a send-off from the
Rashtrapati Bhavan itself.

Ending the protocol at the Palam Technical airport, all
dignitaries including Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh and three chiefs of services will
arrive at the Presidential House.

The VIPs would assemble in the Yellow Drawing Room of
the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the President would meet them
before going to the technical airport to embark a six-day
visit to China.

Yellow Drawing Room was used for functions like
swearing-in of Comptroller and Auditor General, Chief Election
Commissioner and induction of a solitary Minister in the Union
Council of Ministers.

The end of protocol duties was decided upon in order to
end the problems caused to general public because of heavy
rush of people during such an event.

Manmohan Singh had given away with the protocol at the
airport during his first tenure as Prime Minister.
