New Delhi: Tihar Jail authorities were
on Thursday directed by a Delhi court to provide former Commonwealth
Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi medical treatment
prescribed by an AIIMS medical board in the jail hospital.
"Treatment mentioned in the discharge summary (of AIIMS
medical board) be provided to accused Suresh Kalmadi by the
jail hospital," Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh said after
taking cognisance of Kalmadi`s medical report submitted to the
court by the board.

Kalmadi was recently discharged from AIIMS after a
three-day medical examination of his various suspected
ailments related to neurology, cardiology and his general
physical conditions.

Earlier he had undergone a MRI brain scan at LNJP
hospital that triggered speculation that he was suffering from
dementia.

The court also extended till August 18 the judicial
custody of Kalmadi and other accused OC former officials,
including its Director General V K Verma, Secretary General
Lalit Bhanot, Director General (procurement) Surjit Lal, Joint
Director General (sports) A S V Prasad and Treasurer M
Jayachandran.
The court also asked Jaychandran not to mark to the court
copies of his letters to the CBI Director. Jayachandran had
been writing to the CBI Director to expedite all probes
relating to him in various CWG scams, including a case related
to the award of a contract for Timing Scoring and Result
system for the 2010 games to a Swiss firm.
