Bhopal: Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Kantilal Bhuria has said that "development of tribals was hampered whenever non-Congress governments ruled either at
the Centre or in states."
Speaking at a function organised by the Madhya Pradesh
Adivasi Development Council last evening, the Minister also
alleged that there was massive corruption in implementation of
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

At the function, Bhuria was elected unopposed President of the Council yet again.
Bhuria also said that UPA government had undertaken a number of schemes for the welfare of tribals in the country. State Congress President, Suresh Pachouri alleged
that ruling BJP government did not implement the schemes introduced by the Centre for welfare of tribals in Madhya Pradesh.
