Untouchability in politics not acceptable: Advani

BJP leader LK Advani said any ideological differences among the politicians should not lead to untouchability in politics or public life.

New Delhi: BJP leader LK Advani on Wednesday said
any ideological differences among the politicians should not
lead to untouchability in politics or public life.

"There should be no untouchability in politics or public
life. Everyone must shed differences and unite to help the
country move ahead like our forefathers did to fight British,"
Advani said at the naming ceremony of meeting Halls at MCD
Civic Centre after former mayors Aruna Asaf Ali, Hans Raj
Gupta and BJP leader Satya Narayan Bansal.

Addressing the gathering, he said time has now come to
unite for the country to move ahead.

"Untouchability in politics or public life must be
avoided. The purpose of politics should be to bring unity and
not divisiveness in the society," he said.

Corporators from all across the country must ponder over
their image, underlining that serving the citizens with
commitment and integrity should guide their working, he said.

Advani was of the view that everyone gets affected due to
moral and character degradation of the society and people in
political field are no exception to it.

"Therefore, the time has come to serve the citizens with
hard work, commitment and honesty to build their image," he
said.
