New Delhi: A meeting of the UPA constituents
is likely before the winter session of Parliament beginning
November 22 which is expected to be a tumultuous affair.
Congress sources said the meeting would provide an
occasion for the party leadership to consult the allies on a
host of issues, especially the vexed problem of a separate
Telangana state.
A meeting of the Congress Working Committee is also
expected prior to the winter session.
The opposition has given ample hints that it would raise
a number of issues, including price rise, back black money
stashed abroad, state of the economy, Indo-Pak relations in
the wake of SAARC Summit in Maldives and 2G spectrum scam
during the month-long session concluding on December 21.
Home Minister P Chidambaram is expected to be the target
of opposition attack during the session with BJP alleging
about his role in spectrum allotment.
