UPA Govt misusing investigating agencies: BJP

BJP alleged that investigating agencies are being misused to target its govts in states.

Lucknow: Charging the UPA government with
indulging in "vindictive politics", BJP on Friday alleged that
investigating agencies like CBI are being misused to target
its governments in states.

"Of late the UPA government is being vindictive and
governments in BJP-rule states are being targeted
deliberately," party`s chief spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad
said, while giving details of the inaugural address of the
national president Nitin Gadkari on the first day of the
two-day national executive meeting being held here.

He alleged that in the non-UPA ruled states, Governors
are creating hurdles in the working of the governments.

"Bills being passed by the BJP governments are not
being approved...In Karnataka where the government proved its
majority for the second time..there Governor is working as the
special invitee of the Congress working committee," he
said.

Prasad said that while 2000 encounters took place
across the country only 19 cases were reported from BJP-ruled
Gujarat.

"There too the government is being targeted by
misusing CBI. While the Supreme Court ordered inquiry in
Gujarat, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, no investigation was
done on the latter`s case," he alleged.

"Use of investigating agencies to target BJP
governments is going on at a great pace and the party will
strongly oppose this. We are not afraid and will continue to
expose the UPA government," he said.

Prasad also said that the seven-year tenure of the
Prime Minister is very low on the performance ratings.

"The BJP national president has reiterated that in all
the corruption cases that have occurred, the Prime Minister
cannot escape from the biggest responsibility," he said.

"Works of Rs 25,000 crore to Rs 30,000 were done by
Sheila Dikshit government, why an inquiry is not being
conducted against her. Who is saving her," the BJP leader said
while referring to the Commonwealth Games scam.

He also questioned that when former Sports Minister
Mani Shankar Aiyer and late Congress leader Sunil Dutt had
opposed Suresh Kalmadi`s appointment as the chairman of the
Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games, why he was
appointed.

"PM Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi
should give a reply to these questions as they have the
ultimate responsibility," he said.
