UPA lack prompt decisions, poor maintenance in Rlys: Paswan

The UPA government lacked promptness in taking decisions on important issues during its second tenure, national President of Lok Janshakti Party Ramvilas Paswan said today.

Nagpur: The UPA government lacked promptness
in taking decisions on important issues during its second
tenure, national President of Lok Janshakti Party Ramvilas
Paswan said today.

"The UPA-II government could not take prompt decisions on
sensitive issues like Women`s Reservation bill, Caste-based
Census and Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribes reservation
bill," Paswan told reporters.
Caste-based Census in the country was very important to
ascertain the actual figures of many lower castes.

Citing example, the former Union Minister said many
youths have given up the job of cobblers and the Census will
provide the exact number who can be provided with employment
opportunities.

On the functioning of railways, Paswan, a former Railway
Minister was upset with poor maintenance of trains with Mamata
Bannerjee as the present incumbent.

He said even super fast trains are not running on time.
He was surprised to notice installation of a `mouse trapper`
in a First AC compartment in a super fast train passing
through Patna.

Talking about the forthcoming assembly elections in
Bihar, Paswan said his party will continue its ally which was
struck during last Lok Sabha elections. He admitted that the
alliance could not perform better.
