Dehradun: Don't hurl shoes or slippers at politicians. If you don't like them, vote them out democratically. This is yoga guru Baba Ramdev's appeal to voters in five states going to the polls.

Ramdev, who is set to address public meetings in connection with the elections, said in a statement that voters needed to exercise their vote -- "the weapon of democracy".

He frowned upon the tendency of some people to throw shoes or slippers at political leaders.

Ramdev's appeal came ahead of assembly elections in Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Goa which start Jan 28 and end March 3. The results will be out March 4.

Use elections to NOT vote! This will teach the politicians of how popular they are and will force them of self reflection. Politicians are dividing the country and the communities! One example: in Gujarat, people voted in favour of BJP, in majority. Now an honest politician, of whichever party, would accept this and not undermine the Gujarati state government. What does Congress party do? It uses a governor (of Gujarat) to undermine the chosen government of that state. Is this not disrespect of the Gujarati voter and a complot to derail taht chosen government? In the present union government uses this trick in every state where they don`t form the state government. Result is mouthfighting against eachother and dviding the people by showing them only the bad things of the other parties. This is not humane, but demonic!! It has to stop!!! And it can, if we refuse to vote as long as these practices continue.

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT RAMDEV HAS FOR THE FIRST TIME GIVEN A PROPER STATEMENT WHICH MATCHES TO OUR DEMOCRACY AND ITS VALUES. IT IS THE VOTERS WHO WILL DECIDE AS TO WHO SHOULD RULE THE STATE OR THE COUNTRY. THIS GOES AS A MASSAGE TO OTHER CONCERNED PERSONS GROUPS TO FALL IN LINE SO THAT PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY ENJOY THE TUREE SPIRIT OF DEMOCRACY. WHEN WE ARE SELF DECIPLINED WE CAN CERTAINLY ASK OUR LEADER TO WORK IN THE INTEREST OF MASSES THE LEADERS ARE ALSO BELONGING TO A PARTY AND POLITICS ON THE STRENGTH OF MAJORITY THE GOVT IS AND SHOULD BE FOR THE PEOPLE !!!

Very few media houses give any weightage to Baba Ramdev. He may not be highly educated but is close to the ground level people. His demand for getting back the black money is fully valid, no one should have objection to it. His other demand that large notes may be banned may sound impractical but even if 1000 Re note is demonetized lot of black money will be un earthed
