New Delhi: The Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu
is one of the targets on the radar of terrorists, the Rajya
Sabha was informed on Wednesday.
In a written reply to a query in this regard, Minister of
State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said, "Central
Security Agencies have furnished inputs based on intelligence
intercepts to that effect. It is not in public interest to
disclose these facts."
He said central security agencies regularly conduct
security audit of all important pilgrimage centres including
Tirupathi and Shirdi.
"The Ministry has sent advisories to the State Government
and Union Territories Administration to prepare appropriate
security plans in order to secure and protect these religious
places," he said.
