Ramnathi: The VHP`s convention in
Goa will see the organisation deliberating upon the need for a
global strategy to stop China from constructing dams on the
Brahmaputra river, considered sacred in Hindu religion.

VHP`s international general secretary Pravin Togadia
said that three-day-long meeting will deliberate on this
crucial issue.

The meeting of VHP`s board of trustees and governing
council began at Ramnathi, 30 km away from Panaji today.

"Construction of dams and diversion of Brahmaputra by
China is a serious matter. Something needed to be done
immediately," Togadia told reporters here.
