Ramnathi: The VHP's convention in
Goa will see the organisation deliberating upon the need for a
global strategy to stop China from constructing dams on the
Brahmaputra river, considered sacred in Hindu religion.
VHP's international general secretary Pravin Togadia
said that three-day-long meeting will deliberate on this
crucial issue.
The meeting of VHP's board of trustees and governing
council began at Ramnathi, 30 km away from Panaji today.
"Construction of dams and diversion of Brahmaputra by
China is a serious matter. Something needed to be done
immediately," Togadia told reporters here.
