New Delhi: VK Singh is all set to share dais with none other than Bharatiya Janata Party`s likely prime ministerial face, Narendra Modi, stoking the rumour mill that the former Army Chief General will join the BJP ahead of the forthcoming General Elections.

Singh will share dais with BJP campaign committee chief Narendra Modi in September 15 at a rally of ex-servicemen in Rewari, Haryana.

Although Singh had earlier maintained that he had no plans to join politics, his presence with Modi on the same stage will surely fuel speculations of him joining the party.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Overseas Friends of BJP in New Jersey, Singh had said that he was not approached by anyone and he has not approached anybody in this regard.

"There is a change required in the country and I don`t mind going to any forum, any platform to tell people that we need to unite to bring about a change which will make the country better," General Singh added.

Earlier, reports said that he was pondering over a BJP offer to field him against Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli. However, General Singh had discarded the reports by calling them the product of a "ripe imagination".

General Singh is strongly associated with Anna Hazare and has formed an organisation called the Jantantra Morcha.
